1. What is the ideal time for a job switch?

Well, there is no actual ideal time that fits for all during a job change. It will depend on the various scenarios.

Consider a scenario, you joined an organization as a fresher and you don't have any good knowledge of the work and you are just learning and your project is also good and has a good scope of learning then the ideal time for the job switch, in this case, will be 3 to 4 years.

In Another scenario, if you joined an organization as a fresher but already have a good knowledge of the domain and you just want to implement the knowledge and gain professional industry experience then the ideal time for you to think about the job switch will be around 2 years.

The third strategy is a promotion-based strategy which means that do a job switch every time you get promoted. Through this strategy, your salary will stay above the average salary of your domain. If your project is very good and you are learning a lot, then you can take two promotions from an organization and then plan for a switch.

Remember don't run away without taking a hike, increment or promotion else you will see gap in your salary and in the market standards

Make a proper balance between knowledge, experience, and salary

2. How should your job switch strategy must and where you can apply?

There must be a plan for a job switch, note down all the companies you would like to work with and apply to that companies with referral only, as it increased the chances of your profile getting shortlisted. you can connect with people working in that organization through LinkedIn and then ask for a referral to them.

Wait Wait !!! Before applying you should be prepared isn’t it. So decide when are going to do a job and start preparation from 2–3 months prior. First, revise all the basics and then go for all the interview questions of that domain.

Now you are prepared you can go apply for jobs, ask for referrals, and create a profile on job search websites like Naukri, Indeed, etc.

Okay, so you will be going for the interview now, revise all the things and give your 100% to crack the interview.

Now you have cleared all the technical rounds and you are in HR discussion. First, do some research about your average salary on websites like GlassDoor, AmbitionBox, etc., and understand what is the capacity of the company. Don't go directly for a 100% hike first take an offer with a 30% or 50% hike then you can do negotiation and bag a good offer.

Don't hesitate to say no rather that accepting the offer half-heartedly
